Independent artist Rene van Dijk crafts immersive experiences for large-scale dance events & public spaces. Deeply inspired by nature, his venue-specific scenographic designs and video installations use cutting-edge technology to push scenes into unfamiliar directions and invite audiences to experience a new reality.
Rene’s work embraces everything from massive LED structures, system-synchronised robots and warped perspectives on imperfect organic materials to explore his enchantment with dance music and the natural world. Each design is crafted to interact with a space, with distinct visuals that are custom-made using natural resources—to bring marvel and new perceptions to the dance floor. Thirteen years of technical and rave experience enables Rene to throw caution to the wind and create out-of-the-box visual shows.
This creation took place at Blijdorp Festival in Rotterdam. The stage was split in two section giving each side of the crowd another way of experiencing the moment. This duality was made possible with a long row of lights splitting the area.
